About the position

The Human Resources Manager at Retina Consultants is responsible for overseeing all HR functions within the eye care facility, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and fostering a positive workplace culture. This role is crucial in managing recruitment, development, and retention of staff, implementing policies and procedures, and supporting organizational goals through strategic HR initiatives. The HR Manager plays a vital role in maintaining a motivated workforce dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
  • Provides HR consultation and support to Executives and Front-Line managers regarding HR matters including evaluation of HR policies, legal implications related to employee counseling, conflict resolution, employee grievances, and corrective action.
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Works with RCA's corporate HR team to align HR functions/initiatives.
  • Ensures the timely reporting and development of schedules for Employees' 401(k) and Profit-Sharing Plans, including census data and investment tracking.
  • Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Develops and implements departmental budget.
  • Responsible for the administration of bi-weekly payroll.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management or other business discipline or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years in progressively expanding human resources positions with organizations greater than 100 employees, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
  • A minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience.
  • Experience in a large, privately held physician practice preferred.
  • Professional in Human Resources Certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP).
