About the position

Kings Dominion is seeking a Human Resources Front Desk Onboarding Assistant to join our HR Team. This role is pivotal in providing exceptional customer service and HR assistance to our associates. As a member of the HR team, you will be directly involved in assisting new hires during their preboarding process, ensuring they have a smooth transition into the company. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain knowledge in compliance and various HR procedures while working in a dynamic environment. In this role, you will be responsible for answering general HR inquiries from associates, both over the phone and in person. You will assist with the new hire process, which includes sending electronic onboarding packets, reviewing documents/forms, and conducting background check screenings. Additionally, you will utilize various computer programs such as HRIS, ATS, and Background Screening systems to enter and update associate information accurately. Your day-to-day tasks will also involve general office work, including filing, copying, faxing, and answering phones. This position requires a flexible individual who is willing to learn and adapt to the fast-paced and rapidly changing office environment. You will be an essential part of the HR team, contributing to the overall success of the onboarding process and ensuring that new hires feel welcomed and supported.

Responsibilities

  • Provides customer service to associates to answer general HR inquiries both over the phone and in person.
  • Assists with new hire process to include: sending electronic onboarding packets, document/form review and background check screening.
  • Utilizes various computer programs (HRIS, ATS, Background Screening) to enter and update associate information.
  • Performs general office work such as: filing, copying, faxing and answering phones.

Requirements

  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service when interacting with associates, coworkers and guests.
  • Basic computer (Microsoft Office) and typing skills.
  • Possess writing and basic math skills with good organization skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced and rapidly changing office environment.
  • Flexible and willing to gain a broader knowledge of Human Resources procedures.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess a current and valid driver's license and submit it upon request.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
