About the position

The Human Resources Onboarding Specialist at Effingham Hospital, Inc. is an entry-level position focused on coordinating and managing new hire onboarding activities to ensure a positive employee experience. This role involves preparing necessary documentation, conducting employment verifications, and facilitating training for new employees, all while adhering to legal and organizational guidelines. The specialist will work closely with HR Generalists and hiring managers to support new hires throughout their onboarding process, contributing to a culture of professional growth and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage New Hire Onboarding activities.
• Prepare onboarding documents and kits as required.
• Conduct employment verification and reference checks for new hires.
• Initiate mandatory training modules for new hires and ensure completion.
• Act as the primary contact for new hires, answering questions and keeping them engaged.
• Gather and file all paperwork related to new hires.
• Track and report onboarding metrics to measure program effectiveness.
• Assist new staff members in acclimating to the EHS culture and their new roles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the onboarding process.
• Attend job fairs and community events to promote the EHS brand.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of clerical experience or recent high school graduate seeking an entry-level position in human resources.
• Basic computing skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills with attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves
