About the position

YAI is seeking a Human Resources Specialist focused on Onboarding, HRIS, and Benefits to join our team of HR professionals. This role is essential in facilitating the onboarding process for new hires, providing support for Workday and benefits inquiries, and ensuring a smooth transition for employees into the organization. The specialist will play a key role in promoting YAI's mission of supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Processes all new hire paperwork and communicates status to supervisors.
  • Participates in recruitment efforts and assists with onboarding.
  • Responds to general HR inquiries and requests.
  • Processes background checks and maintains clearance databases.
  • Acts as Custodian of Records for employee documentation.
  • Supports sourcing, recruitment, and hiring of top talent.
  • Coordinates interviews and related business processes between hiring managers and candidates.
  • Utilizes job boards and social media to advertise open positions.
  • Organizes and attends career fairs and recruiting events.
  • Manages pipeline activity and maintains data integrity via ATS (Workday).
  • Generates offer letters and facilitates communication between HR and Program Managers.
  • Attends regional leadership meetings to provide updates and report on KPIs.
  • Troubleshoots and provides support for Workday-related issues.
  • Acts as administrator for assigned business processes in Workday.
  • Conducts benefits orientations and manages benefits-related inquiries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or similar preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of human resources or administration experience preferred.
  • 1 year of Workday ERP system experience preferred.
  • 1 year of ATS, HRIS, or ERP system experience required.
  • Familiarity with the I/DD field preferred.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and multitask effectively.
  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the I/DD field.
  • Proficient in utilizing ATS and ERP systems for hiring processes.
