About the position

The Human Resource & Onboarding Specialist at Riddell Sports is responsible for supporting all administrative, candidate, and employee aspects of onboarding, along with various human resource compliance and recordkeeping duties. This role involves managing pre-employment processes, handling inquiries, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates multiple pre-employment processes including background checks and initiating digital employee records in the HRIS system.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex matters to appropriate HR staff.
  • Processes paperwork for functional area according to established procedures.
  • Maintains employees' personal files in line with company policies and government regulations.
  • Retains records following company record retention requirements.
  • Reviews invoices for accuracy and submits all billing to accounts payable department for payment.
  • Completes written and verbal employment verifications according to company policies.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training and assessments.
  • Supports aspects of the recruiting and interviewing process, facilitating the hiring of qualified job applicants.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute HR programs including benefits and compliance.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 1 year of experience with Microsoft Excel and time management.
  • Previous experience with HRIS systems and HR information management.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing workplace with human resource duties preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Highly proficient in MS Office applications, primarily Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in HR work.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively with both employees and managers.
