About the position

The Human Resources Onboarding Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting the Human Resources Manager with various onboarding and administrative functions. This position is responsible for managing pre-employment processes, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with HR policies. The specialist will also support new hires through their onboarding journey, contributing to the overall efficiency of the HR department.

Responsibilities

  • Administers pre-employment tests, drug screens, background checks, and pre and post-employment documentation.
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation, and maintains I-9 files.
  • Provides Walden Security benefits information and assists with completing the necessary forms to enroll and cancel benefits.
  • Creates and enters new employee personnel information into the HRIS.
  • Participates in company Quality Assurance initiatives, including record keeping, training, and auditing.
  • Assists with coordinating and scheduling in-person interviews with the Talent Coordinator.
  • Assists with coordinating and scheduling new hires to attend Initial Security Officer Training classes.
  • Assists with uniform assignments, exchanges, or reimbursements.
  • Assists with maintenance of uniform room cleanliness and inventory.
  • Performs other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, photocopying, and collating.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or two to four years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of applicant tracking systems (ATS) and Human Resources systems (HRIS).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
