About the position

The Human Resources Operations Coordinator at Dessert Holdings is responsible for supporting payroll, benefits, and compensation processes within the HR department. This role involves interaction with local HR teams across the U.S. and Canada, providing a unique opportunity to engage in various HR functions including Total Rewards, HRIS, payroll, and employee relations. The position is primarily on-site with the flexibility to work from home on Fridays, and it plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth HR operations during payroll integration and M&A activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support employees and systems during payroll integration and future M&A activities.
  • Provide support for the HRIS (UKG), including running reports, audits of data integrity, and assisting with implementation change requests.
  • Support payroll during fiscal and calendar year-end processes and provide payroll processing backup.
  • Act as the main contact for benefits, resolving employee questions and issues with vendors.
  • Manage benefit administration, including updating premium amounts and ensuring accurate employee benefit data.
  • Perform general plan administration support, including monthly benefit invoice remittance and vendor coordination.
  • Assist with communication and administration for the Open Enrollment process.
  • Assist with benefit compliance tasks, 401(k) plan management, and COBRA administration.
  • Assist with administration of compensation programs, including maintaining job family structure and market compensation research.
  • Support special projects such as employee engagement surveys.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of prior HR experience with exposure to payroll, benefits, and/or compensation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and commitment to high-quality support in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, logical expressions, and data manipulation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Possible occasional travel to assist with new system implementation.
