Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, is seeking an HR Operations Specialist to join their team. This position is a frontline support role for team members and leaders, addressing all HR-related inquiries and providing first-line resolution and triage. The HR Operations Specialist will be responsible for responding to various forms of communication, including calls, emails, faxes, and voicemails, and documenting all inquiries in the ServiceNow system. The role involves processing benefit information and terminations in the Workday HRIS System, ensuring accurate reporting of adds, deletions, and changes to insurance carriers. The specialist will also need to understand outsourced benefits such as Cobra and FSA and interact with vendors to resolve issues. A strong understanding of Section 125 and federal and state guidelines regarding personnel and employee benefits is essential, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality in all HR Service Center work. The HR Operations Specialist will handle a variety of transactions related to initial employment and associated changes, including hires, transfers, leaves of absence, and changes in pay and scheduled hours, all while maintaining a high level of accuracy. This role requires collaboration with HR Business Partners and other HR staff to apply policies, resolve problems, and facilitate transactions. The specialist will also work closely with Payroll staff to correct and improve processes related to paycheck issues. A thorough understanding of employee benefit plans and policies is necessary to handle inquiries and process enrollment and changes to various insurance plans. The specialist will log all incoming inquiries in the ServiceNow ticket system and assign tickets to the respective department when expertise is required. Additionally, the HR Operations Specialist should possess a working knowledge of Excel, Word, Query, and Workday, understanding their impact on employees, managers, and reporting. The role requires initiative in problem-solving and the ability to resolve complex issues as they arise. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills, along with rapid and accurate data entry capabilities and the ability to learn new software quickly. This full-time position is based at the Corporate Office in Springfield, MA, with a schedule of Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
