The Human Resources Partner at the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) serves as the primary contact for a division or divisions, providing comprehensive HR services including recruitment, job descriptions, compensation, training, and employee relations. This role involves consulting on systematic projects, resolving HR-related issues, and ensuring effective coordination of services to enhance HR management across divisions.

  • Serve as the single point of contact for all OHR services for assigned divisions.
  • Consult with division management to identify patterns and opportunities for HR service improvement.
  • Manage systematic projects such as career ladders and performance management systems.
  • Resolve recruitment and retention issues and classification grievances.
  • Track and monitor the completion of HR services and ensure satisfactory coordination.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, human resources, journalism, English, psychology, marketing, or a related field.
  • Three years of job-related work experience in HR services such as classification, compensation, recruitment, and performance management.
  • Working knowledge of employment law and human resources principles and practices.
  • Ability to influence best practices and provide outstanding customer service.
  • Ability to identify issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships under stressful circumstances.
  • State of Montana Classification Certification, or the ability to achieve certification.
