About the position

As a Payroll/HRIS Specialist at Roto-Rooter, you will play a critical role in managing our payroll processes and maintaining the integrity of our HRIS (Human Resources Information System), specifically Inova HRIS. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while utilizing the HRIS to streamline HR operations. This position is essential for maintaining compliance with company policies and regulations, and you will be expected to manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees. This includes calculating wages, deductions, bonuses, and other payroll elements accurately, as well as processing payroll adjustments such as salary changes, promotions, and terminations. You will also be responsible for reconciling payroll data to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies that may arise. In addition to payroll processing, you will serve as the primary administrator for the Inova HRIS system (UKG Ready Partner). This involves maintaining employee records, including personal information, employment history, benefits, and payroll data. You will implement and oversee system updates, enhancements, and configurations, and troubleshoot any issues related to HRIS functionality, collaborating with the vendor for resolution. Furthermore, you will assist in benefits administration, which includes managing enrollment, changes, and terminations, as well as reconciling monthly invoices to ensure accuracy for payment approval. Educating employees on available benefits and assisting with inquiries related to benefits will also be part of your role. You will be expected to identify opportunities to streamline payroll and HR processes through system enhancements or procedural changes. Collaborating with HR and other departments to implement best practices and efficiency improvements will be crucial to your success in this position. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements, along with excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be interacting with employees and other departments regularly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a payroll specialist, preferably using Inova HRIS (UKG) or similar systems.
  • Strong understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
