About the position

The HR/Payroll Specialist at Precis Solar is responsible for managing various human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits management, and payroll processing. This part-time role emphasizes a positive work atmosphere and ongoing professional growth, making the specialist a valued team member.

Responsibilities

• Post job openings on various platforms and screen resumes.
• Conduct initial phone interviews to identify qualified candidates.
• Create and update job descriptions and the Employee Handbook.
• Coordinate new hire benefits orientation and manage background checks and drug screenings.
• Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR-related topics.
• Administer health insurance benefits and manage the open enrollment process.
• Update employee deductions in ADP and follow up on ACA filings.
• Manage the workers' comp program and ensure compliance with necessary reporting.
• Ensure adherence to all federal and state HR regulations, including wage & hour laws, FMLA, and 401K policies.
• Oversee leave of absence processes and distribute leave packets.
• Create and implement safety initiatives and maintain employee records.
• Process payroll, including employee reimbursement, commission, and deductions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in an HR role preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in full cycle payroll processing preferred.
• Prior experience with ADP Workforce Now is required.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• General knowledge of HR best practices, policies, and regulations.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Credentials in a human resources-related field preferred (SHRM, PHR, etc.).
