About the position

The Human Resources/Payroll Specialist at Avera is responsible for managing all aspects of payroll, human resources, and accounting functions while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the corporation's financial data. This role requires a strong understanding of federal and state employment laws, payroll regulations, and accounting practices, along with the ability to utilize various software tools effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of payroll processing and management.
  • Maintain and update human resources records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage accounting functions related to payroll and human resources.
  • Utilize accounting software to maintain financial data accuracy.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and payroll summaries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in HR, Payroll, and Accounting is required.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment and benefits laws.
  • Understanding of payroll and accounting requirements, deadlines, and rules.
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with CenterPoint Accounting Software is a plus.
  • SHRM, FPC, or CPP certifications are a plus.
