About the position

The Human Resources Recruitment Specialist is a pivotal role within the St. Cloud School District 742, responsible for the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of high-quality candidates for various positions, with a particular emphasis on Paraeducators. This position is designed to support the district's mission of hiring exceptional staff who can contribute positively to the educational environment. The Specialist will engage in a variety of recruitment activities, including posting job openings, seeking both active and passive candidates, and conducting interviews. The role also involves verifying the Highly Qualified status of new hires and assisting them through the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition into their new roles. In this position, the Specialist will utilize various recruitment strategies, such as job boards, social media, and job fairs, to attract quality candidates. They will be responsible for maintaining job postings through the District's applicant tracking system (ATS) and will independently conduct interviews, making recommendations for hiring based on their assessments. The Specialist will also play a key role in coordinating and participating in district hiring events and job fairs, further enhancing the district's visibility and appeal to potential candidates. Additionally, the Specialist will facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, which includes contacting candidates to extend job offers, assisting with pre-board steps, scheduling orientation sessions, and serving as a point of contact for new employees throughout their onboarding journey. Continuous improvement of the recruitment process will be a focus, with the Specialist collecting feedback from candidates and hiring managers to refine strategies and practices. This role requires a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all recruitment efforts, ensuring that the district attracts a diverse pool of candidates who can contribute to a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the placement and coordination of job postings for internal and external communication including maintaining positions via District applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Reviews applicants via ATS and contacts selected candidates for interview
  • Independently interviews potential candidates and makes recommendations to hire
  • Utilizes relevant recruitment strategies, e.g. job boards, social media, job fairs, for recruitment of quality candidates
  • Available to promptly answer questions from potential applicants about job postings and job duties
  • Coordinates, attends and participates in District hiring events
  • Attends and participates in job fairs, and recruiting sessions
  • Facilitates the onboarding process for new hires including contacting candidates to make an offer of employment, assisting with the pre-board steps, scheduling for orientation, and serving as the new hires point of contact through their onboarding
  • Tracks the Highly Qualified status of newly hired Paraeducators and follows each Para through until they have achieved HQ status
  • Collect feedback from candidates and hiring managers to continually improve the recruitment process
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Education, Business or related field
  • Five (5) years of work-related experience or equivalent combination of work and education experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations related to recruitment and hiring
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in recruitment practices

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment tools
  • Previous Human Resources and/or Recruiting experience
