About the position

The HR Representative - Retail serves as the primary contact for retail field associates, providing essential information on payroll, benefits, and company policies while ensuring compliance with various laws. This role emphasizes customer service, efficient payroll processing, and effective collaboration within the HR department, alongside handling administrative tasks related to employee relations, worker's compensation, and benefits management.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for retail field associates regarding payroll, benefits, and company policies.
  • Process payroll efficiently for new hires, transfers, salary increases, and terminations.
  • Ensure compliance with State, Federal, and local laws regarding employee documentation.
  • Verify the integrity and completion of New Hire documentation to meet Sarbanes-Oxley and Internal Audit requirements.
  • Conduct monthly and semi-annual audits of associates' average weekly hours for compliance with Federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all changes to associates' records in the Workday system.
  • Administer severance letters in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain a detailed log of all leaves of absence in compliance with HIPAA and FMLA laws.
  • Coordinate the transition from Short Term Disability to Long Term Disability when applicable.
  • Process benefits enrollment and ensure compliance with IRS regulations.
  • Serve as a liaison between workers' compensation carriers and associates.
  • Collaborate with field management to address employee issues and maintain positive relationships.

Requirements

  • Human Resources experience preferred.
  • College Degree or comparable work experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Diligent and organized with strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in PC skills, particularly MS Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of Workday HR system is a plus.
