About the position

The Human Resources/Safety Coordinator/Payroll Specialist at Dan's Overhead Doors & More is a full-time role focused on supporting HR, safety, and payroll functions within a dynamic construction company. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage employee relations, coordinate safety training, and oversee payroll processes while maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be proactive in enhancing HR and safety processes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for employee inquiries and requests.
  • Manage new hire and termination processes, including background checks and onboarding.
  • Complete and verify I-9 forms, maintaining accurate records.
  • Coordinate recruitment and interview processes as needed.
  • Administer employee benefits and 401(k) programs, managing changes for new hires and terminations.
  • Maintain accurate employee files and track PTO records.
  • Record timesheet totals for payroll processing.
  • Coordinate and track safety training programs, maintaining employee training records.
  • Process injury reports and assist in incident investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Support safety inspections and assist in organizing safety meetings.
  • Manage safety compliance platforms and complete necessary applications.
  • Oversee and process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Review and reconcile timesheet data, addressing discrepancies with staff.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity in the payroll system.
  • Respond to payroll inquiries and support pay-related issues and benefits.
  • Prepare and analyze payroll reports for management and compliance.
  • Implement payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage the onboarding process related to payroll and benefits enrollment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associate's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll management and related processes.
  • Proficient in safety and HR practices, employment law, and software such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and QuickBooks.
  • Strong understanding of HR functions, including benefits administration, onboarding, and employee relations.
  • Familiarity with workplace safety protocols and training programs, including experience in incident reporting and investigations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills, ensuring accuracy in payroll and documentation.
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
