About the position

The Human Resources/Safety Specialist at JP Carroll Roofing is a vital role responsible for managing HR functions, payroll processing, compliance tasks, and ensuring a safe work environment. This position supports the company's growth by fostering a positive team atmosphere and handling various administrative responsibilities. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the HR Contact for the Company.
  • Manage all new Employee onboarding and maintain Employee Records.
  • Process weekly payroll in ADP Workforce Now for approximately 55 Employees.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of Payroll, health insurance, Retirement deferrals, and PTO in ADP.
  • Submit Retirement plan deferral contributions monthly and allocate Employer HSA Contributions.
  • Administer benefits including health and retirement plans and ensure employee understanding of company policies.
  • Serve as the point person for Employee Injuries/Work Comp Claims.
  • Maintain the OSHA 300 and 300A Logs for employee accidents or injuries.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines and regulations.
  • Track and ensure all Licenses and Registrations are renewed annually.
  • Oversee fleet compliance, vehicle registrations, emissions, and property taxes.
  • Track and ensure all Sub-Contractors have up-to-date Certificates of Insurance and Licensing.
  • Create and file all 1099-NEC Forms annually.
  • Process and manage all insurance claims: Work Comp, General Liability, and Auto.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and policies.
  • Handle phone systems and manage accounts with Verizon.
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic files.

Requirements

  • A college degree is strongly preferred, but job experience is critical.
  • Proven track record in managing a role requiring great attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ADP Workforce Now.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Energetic self-starter who can work independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the roofing or construction industry.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and compliance.
