About the position

The Human Resources Site Specialist at Freeport-McMoRan is responsible for managing the drug and alcohol program, leading HR compliance and leadership training, and driving retention efforts. This role involves data collection and analysis to support HR initiatives, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and collaborating with site leadership on HR-related decisions. The specialist will also conduct exit and stay interviews, manage HR reporting, and assist with investigations under the direction of the HR team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the drug and alcohol program and related tasks.
  • Lead HR compliance and leadership training initiatives.
  • Conduct exit and stay interviews to support retention efforts.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Analytics team to analyze data and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Act as the site expert on drug and alcohol policies and participate in legal processes related to D&A.
  • Manage and deliver HR reporting on training, retention, and D&A outcomes.
  • Identify and lead HR improvement projects and facilitate change management.
  • Assist with employment and compliance investigations as directed by HR team members.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED with four years of professional experience in HR or related field; OR an Associate's Degree with two years of experience; OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Ability to make data-supported decisions that align with policies and practices.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills with some guidance from leadership.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment while maintaining professionalism.
  • Customer service-oriented with a focus on supporting business objectives.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and proactive initiatives.
