About the position

The Human Resources Specialist 2 will serve as a human resources generalist within the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance. This role involves providing a comprehensive range of personnel services, including staffing, recruitment, classification, examination planning, succession planning, and employee relations. The incumbent will guide administrative coordinators, program managers, and OTDA employees, while also overseeing the Recruitment Unit and Onboarding functions, and supervising two Human Resources Specialists 1 and a Program Aide.

Responsibilities

• Provide a full range of personnel services including staffing, recruitment, and classification.
• Plan and oversee examinations and succession planning.
• Guide administrative coordinators and program managers in HR matters.
• Supervise the Recruitment Unit and Onboarding functions.
• Manage and supervise two Human Resources Specialists 1 and a Program Aide.

Requirements

• One year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title for lateral transfer eligibility.
• Reachable on the appropriate eligible list in Albany.
