Responsibilities

  • Provide consultation in classification, recruitment, and selection processes.
  • Research, compare, and make compensation recommendations.
  • Review and audit transactions of other HR staff.
  • Conduct classification audits.
  • Work in the areas of diversity and inclusion, equal employment opportunity, and affirmative action.

Requirements

  • Two years of progressively responsible human resources experience with job evaluation/classification and recruitment/selection activities.
  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Communications, or Organizational Development may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with SEMA4 and Recruiting Solutions or other HRIS/Recruitment software.
  • Ability to conduct classification audits and work within a large and complex classification structure.
  • Strong analysis and technical writing skills sufficient to analyze job responsibilities for appropriate classification.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment and labor law.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadline objectives.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact professionally with managers, supervisors, employees, applicants, and the general public.
  • Strong commitment to a respectful, inclusive, and diverse work environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using SEMA4 and Recruiting Solutions, processing and approving routine and non-routine human resources transactions.
  • Experience working in a union environment, including contract interpretation and administration of union/labor contracts related to personnel transactions or vacancy filling.
  • Experience coordinating and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Experience providing benefits, worker's compensation, unemployment insurance, and/or FMLA assistance.
