We also promote a healthy work/life balance. The Department of Human Resources has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Specialist. The workstation for this position is in Frankfort.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for learning, maintaining understanding, and applying personnel policies, pay practices, and relevant rules and regulations pertaining assigned functions.
  • Reviews, prepares and/or submits personnel, payroll, benefits actions.
  • Provides guidance pertaining to appropriate personnel actions, facilitates transfers to external agencies.
  • Maintains personnel, payroll and/or medical records for the agency.
  • Provides technical support to all levels of management as related to assigned human resources functions, including but not limited to personnel processing, payroll, and employee benefits.
  • Advises and communicates with applicants, employees, supervisors, and appointing authorities concerning employment procedures.
  • Serves as liaison and provides processing support as related to employee benefits.
  • Contacts benefit providers to obtain information about services, assist employees in expediting claim services, provide guidance on completing forms, etc.
  • Adheres to communicated deadlines, payroll calendar and timelines outlined in the personnel policies.
  • Attends workshops, seminars, and other training sessions as assigned.
  • Conducts research as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Associate/2 Years job-related experience or HS diploma/4 Years job related experience
