About the position

The Human Resources Specialist and Wellness Associate position at Owen J. Roberts School District (OJRSD) is designed to support the Director of Human Resources and the Human Resources Department while also serving as the Wellness representative. This role involves managing wellness initiatives, overseeing grant applications and expenditures, and ensuring the wellness of students and staff through various programs and collaborations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Wellness Grant, including maintaining expenditure logs, creating budgets, and approving grant fund usage.
  • Coordinate and communicate with the District Wellness Committee as per District Policy.
  • Secure program sustainability through grants, awards, and partnerships.
  • Prepare and submit grant applications, manage expenditures, and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Serve on the Regional Wellness Collaboration Committee through the Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation.
  • Stay updated on national, state, and local wellness initiatives and activities.
  • Update Human Resources department forms annually and provide departmental support as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining the Human Resources Information System and personnel records.
  • Prepare the personnel section of the Board Agenda and supporting documentation.
  • Perform customer service functions by addressing employee requests and questions.
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, and conferences as requested by the HR Director.
  • Assist the HR Director with research projects and special projects.
  • Maintain and process all extracurricular and supplemental positions.
  • Reconcile and prepare ESS invoices for processing and communication with the ESS district manager.
  • Reconcile and prepare employee benefit invoices for timely processing.
  • Coordinate student teachers with building principals and sending schools.
  • Perform administrative functions such as processing mail, making photocopies, and preparing correspondence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred, or equivalent education and job knowledge.
  • Proficient secretarial skills, including strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on processes and procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer use, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Ability to demonstrate diplomacy in interactions with community members, parents, teachers, staff, and external contacts while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Submission of PA School Personnel Health form and current Act 34, Act 151, and Act 114 clearances.
