About the position

The Human Resources Specialist at Agtegra Cooperative in Aberdeen, SD, is responsible for performing various HR functions with a focus on payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, and system maintenance. This role supports internal HR processes, responds to employee inquiries, and coordinates activities within the HR department to enhance operational efficiency and align with the company's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Perform bi-weekly payroll processing including timecard approvals and data validation.
  • Audit payroll and benefits data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Administer benefits including new employee support and open enrollment management.
  • Assist new employees with the benefits process and field questions.
  • Conduct onboarding and orientation for new hires.
  • Manage wellness programming initiatives.
  • Generate HR metrics and reporting.
  • Maintain HR systems through data entry and validation, including edits to employee information pages.
  • Support recruiting efforts as needed.
  • Provide first-line HR customer service to employees and applicants, addressing inquiries related to payroll and benefits.
  • Research best practices and recommend process enhancements to support Agtegra's mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a comparable field.
  • Three or more years of related experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Proficiency in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with payroll and benefits administration.
  • Experience with leaves/disability management and recruitment.
  • Familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) database maintenance.
  • SHRM-CP and/or PHR Certification.
