About the position

The Human Resources Specialist position at the U.S. Federal Railroad Administration involves providing administrative and technical support across various HR functional areas, including recruitment, employee benefits, labor relations, and performance management. Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and technical support in core HR functional areas such as Recruitment and Placement, Classification, Staffing, Employee Benefits, and Labor Relations.
  • Analyze data and develop reports to ensure technical accuracy of HR activities.
  • Develop HR responses, briefings, and written products using HR software tools.
  • Deliver HR products and services for various employee categories under different statutory and regulatory authorities.
  • Apply fundamental HR principles, concepts, techniques, and guidelines to complete assignments.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and meet specialized experience qualifications.
  • At least one year of experience in delivering Human Resources services, including recruitment, classification, and employee relations, or a master's degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of customer service, personnel and human resources, resilience, teamwork, and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer In Training (EIT) certification.
