About the position

The Willamette Education Service District is seeking a full-time Human Resources Specialist - Bilingual to join our Human Resources Department. This position requires proficiency in both English and Spanish, as the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a diverse workforce and ensuring effective communication across various departments. The role is based at the Willamette ESD Marion Center in Salem, OR, and follows a 250-day work calendar. The position is designed for individuals who are passionate about human resources and are looking to make a positive impact within the educational community. As a Human Resources Specialist, you will play a crucial role in various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws. You will work closely with staff and management to address HR-related inquiries and provide guidance on policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. This position offers an opportunity to grow within the HR field while contributing to the mission of the Willamette ESD. The salary for this position ranges from $22.88 to $29.26 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening applications, and coordinating interviews.
  • Provide support to employees regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Support the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and training.
  • Facilitate communication between management and staff regarding HR-related issues.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of HR initiatives and programs.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.
  • Entry-level experience in human resources or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software.
