About the position

You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCE SPECIALIST (CLASS/RECRUIT) in the Human Resources & Organizational Management Branch of HQ US MARINE CORPS. In this role, you will be responsible for serving as an HR expert on Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) teams for functional areas of responsibility. You will collaborate with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the HROM Recruiter, SWP Advisor, and serviced managers to devise innovative and aggressive organizational demographic strategies. Your duties will include evaluating positions, providing classification advice, responding to issues independently, and determining innovative recruitment avenues.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an HR expert on Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) teams for functional areas of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with EEO, HROM Recruiter, SWP Advisor, and serviced managers to devise organizational demographic strategies.
  • Evaluate positions and provide classification advice in accordance with OPM, DoD, DON, and MARCORPS guidelines.
  • Research and resolve problems and issues based on knowledge of functional area and administrative processes.
  • Determine areas of consideration and recommend innovative methods and strategies to resolve recruitment issues.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Current federal employees must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must complete training and maintain a government credit card for travel-related purchases.
  • Ability to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of recruitment and placement laws, regulations, policies, and practices.
  • Experience in operating HR/personnel systems and generating personnel actions.
