About the position

The HR Specialist (ER/LR) position within the Division of Administration at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) focuses on providing expert guidance in labor and employee relations. The role involves overseeing alternative dispute resolution and reasonable accommodation programs, advising management on complex employee relations issues, and conducting administrative investigations. The specialist will also analyze regulations impacting labor relations and implement initiatives to enhance employee work life quality.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the agency's principal consultant and expert in labor and employee relations.
  • Oversee the alternative dispute resolution and reasonable accommodation programs.
  • Provide advisory services to supervisors and staff on complex employee relations issues.
  • Draft and finalize documents related to discipline, adverse actions, grievances, and appeals.
  • Conduct administrative investigations and serve as the CFTC Reasonable Accommodation Coordinator.
  • Support initiatives to improve the quality of work life for CFTC employees.
  • Analyze proposed regulations and policies impacting labor and employee relations.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Background/Security Investigation is required.
  • May be required to serve a probationary/trial period.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must meet time-in-grade requirements, if applicable.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/CT-13 level.
