About the position

The Human Resources Specialist (Employee Relations) position within the Department of the Air Force is primarily responsible for planning, developing, and executing a comprehensive range of employee relations and management advisory services. This role is essential for managing complex organizational structures and supporting dynamic professional and scientific missions. The specialist will provide guidance on employee relations issues, ensuring effective management practices across assigned organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end processes for Employee Management Relations.
  • Provide employee relations assistance to managers for assigned organizations.
  • Consult and assist on complex and often controversial conduct and performance-related issues.
  • Manage one or more assigned programs related to employee relations.

Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent in other pay systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of the mission, operating programs, and organizational structure of the program's functional community.
  • Expert knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods to improve management processes and program effectiveness.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of policies, concepts, and procedures affecting organizational functions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Mastery knowledge and experience with Title 5 and Title 10 personnel systems.
  • Skill in justifying and recommending actions on employee relations programs.
  • Skill in communicating effectively with management and staff.
