The Human Resources Specialist role at Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope in Midway, TN, serves as a foundational position for individuals looking to build a career in human resources. The specialist will work closely with the HR Manager to manage daily HR functions, focusing on various areas such as recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and performance management. The position aims to enhance workplace relationships and improve employee engagement and retention.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team and business leaders to develop solutions, programs, and policies related to retention and engagement.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve working relationships, building morale, and increasing retention.
  • Provide guidance and input on talent needs, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting effective investigations.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to employee management, reducing legal risks, and ensuring compliance.
  • Serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department and organization.
  • Perform generalist functions such as payroll and administrative tasks related to staffing changes or leaves of absence.
  • Consult with line management on performance management guidance, including coaching and corrective actions.
  • Drive full cycle recruiting activities, understanding hiring manager needs and delivering effective interviewing and onboarding processes.
  • Identify training needs and evaluate effectiveness to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Utilize analytics and data work through the HRIS system.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state employment laws.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • SHRM Certified preferred.
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.
