About the position

The Human Resources Specialist (Information Systems/Military) position at the Department of Defense involves deploying and coordinating training requirements for personnel and payroll systems. The role requires advising senior leaders on management and payroll systems, developing guidance documents, and preparing presentations to introduce new concepts and business functions.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and coordinate new equipment training requirements for personnel and payroll systems.
  • Advise senior leaders and staff on management and payroll systems by providing functional guidance and application of regulations.
  • Develop information/decision papers, memorandums, and reports to provide guidance/recommendations.
  • Prepare and present briefings to introduce new concepts/business functions.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience in processing personnel actions within human resources database systems.
  • Experience advising staff on personnel processes.
  • Experience preparing/maintaining personnel reports or personnel files.
  • Experience assisting with training or implementation support of management, personnel, or payroll systems/databases.
  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education in a relevant field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with federal HR regulations and policies.
  • Knowledge of military personnel systems.
