About the position

The Human Resources Specialist (Information Systems) position within the Department of the Air Force is primarily responsible for managing and administering technological support for personnel equipment and program elements, including the Military Personnel System (MILPDS) and the Defense Joint Military Pay System (DJMS). This role involves ensuring the accuracy and currency of HR information systems and providing support to military HR operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Personnel Systems Manager in providing military HR information systems support to the flight and customers from units throughout the installation.
  • Monitor the currency and accuracy of MILPDS and other automation programs and plans.
  • Create, communicate, and deliver end-user products across the installation.
  • Participate in special projects and perform special assignments.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be registered for Selective Service (if applicable).
  • Ability to obtain or already have IT certifications on CompTIA certifications to meet requirements for a Functional Systems Administrator (FSA) account.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of computer/automated data processing techniques, requirements, methods, sources, procedures, and system software/hardware.
  • Knowledge of established security techniques and procedures to ensure network security requirements are accomplished.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with military personnel automated systems and various office automation software programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and maintain effective work relationships.
