About the position

The Human Resources (HR) Specialist position at AMCOM involves a critical role in the development and issuance of policies, guidance, products, and services aimed at enhancing the professional knowledge and skills of the workforce. The specialist will manage various HR programs, including performance management, incentive awards, and other facets of human resource management. A key responsibility includes reviewing all employee appraisals for accuracy and compliance, ensuring timely submissions, and confirming that all employees have been provided with standards or objectives within the appropriate timeframe. In addition to managing performance management systems, the HR Specialist will provide guidance on the effective implementation and utilization of these systems, advising management on the appropriate hierarchical structure. The role requires interpreting and implementing fiscal year award guidance from senior leadership, as well as incentive award guidance related to specific pay systems. The specialist must ensure that all policy, regulatory, and program issuances are properly integrated and coordinated with other staff actions, fully supporting AMCOM's mission requirements, EEO program objectives, and the Federal Merit System. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance throughout the duration of employment, and it includes a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of approximately 25% of the time. The HR Specialist will also be responsible for providing subject matter expertise training to the AMCOM workforce as necessary, maintaining and monitoring updates on all facets of performance management programs, and managing the incentive awards program.

Responsibilities

  • Manage HR programs including performance management and incentive awards.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • One year of specialized experience in civilian performance management systems and HR management.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of practices, laws, regulations, and policies associated with performance management systems.
  • Experience managing and providing guidance for performance management systems such as DPMAP and AcqDemo.
  • Ability to provide subject matter expertise training to the workforce.
