About the position

The Human Resources Specialist at Senior Star Management Company plays a vital role in supporting HR operations within the community. This position is responsible for managing employee records, assisting with recruitment, ensuring compliance with HR policies, and providing administrative support to the Regional HR Manager. The specialist will contribute to the smooth operation of HR processes and help maintain the effectiveness and compliance of the HR department.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system, including personal information, job titles, hiring documents, salary details, training records, and performance evaluations.
  • Conduct regular file audits to ensure compliance with regulations and readiness for surveys.
  • Assist with the recruitment process, including screening applicants, scheduling interviews, coordinating with candidates, and preparing offer letters.
  • Address employee inquiries, providing information on HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and HR leadership and serve as a witness during disciplinary conversations when necessary.
  • Facilitate a weekly new hire orientation to ensure all new associates get the best possible start at our community.
  • Support management in completing new associate training checklists and communicating benefit changes to associates.
  • Participate in HR department projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the HR department and community operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a professional Human Resources position required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with HR software and systems (e.g., HRIS, ATS) is a plus.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
