About the position

The Human Resources Specialist L2 at Honu Services is a pivotal role that focuses on the effective execution of HR support functions, particularly in relation to government customers and the HR Manager. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities including employee relations, recruiting, policy administration, compliance reporting, and various administrative functions. The specialist will ensure the confidentiality of HR information while maintaining a thorough understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations. In this role, the HR Specialist will perform generalist duties and collaborate closely with the HR team. Key responsibilities include leading new hire orientation and training, implementing HR compliance and policies, managing full-cycle recruiting, and providing support in employee relations, including assisting with investigations and payroll administration. The specialist will also be responsible for maintaining employee files to ensure 100% compliance with relevant regulations, assisting employees with HR-related inquiries, and generating monthly compliance reports as well as completing yearly governmental reports. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner. The HR Specialist must be a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for expressing concepts, plans, and proposals clearly to various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Perform HR generalist related duties and work closely in partnership with the HR team
  • Lead and support new hire orientation/training

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or related discipline
  • Three to five years of demonstrated/practical hands-on experience in a Human Resource Generalist role
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, web-based applications and HR-related systems
  • Familiarity with military and civilian personnel management systems
