The Program Coordinator plays a crucial role in the management and assignment of Field Artillery (FA) Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) within the Army. This position is responsible for fulfilling FA MOS assignments in accordance with approved guidance, ensuring that personnel are assigned to the appropriate FA MOS that meets the distribution guidance. The Program Coordinator will also be tasked with assigning follow-on Advanced Individual Training (AIT) start dates, adhering to published class dates to ensure a smooth transition for personnel into their training programs. In addition to assignment responsibilities, the Program Coordinator is expected to maintain personnel trend and projection data. This involves establishing and maintaining access to Army systems of record and utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite to support data queries. The role requires effective communication and coordination with external agencies across the larger accessions enterprise, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged in the assignment process. Furthermore, the Program Coordinator is responsible for maintaining historical records of FA MOS assignments and AIT assignments, which is essential for tracking personnel movements and trends over time. The position may require occasional travel away from the normal duty station, up to 25% of the time, and the successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. This role is critical in supporting the Army's personnel management and ensuring that the right individuals are placed in the right positions to meet operational needs.
