About the position

The Human Resources Specialist (Military) position at the Department of Defense involves overseeing recruitment efforts, managing administrative operations at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEP), and ensuring compliance with military enlistment regulations. The role requires mentoring recruiters and handling personnel background checks, making it crucial for maintaining the integrity of the enlistment process.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce all local and national policies pertaining to recruitment efforts.
  • Mentor and train recruiters on the software and automation systems used by the organization.
  • Responsible for primary submission requests for personnel background and security clearance suitability checks on all applicants processing for enlistment.
  • Manage the day-to-day administrative and processing operations at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEP).
  • Perform processing procedures on applicants applying for enlistment and ensure they meet the basic qualifications for enlistment.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience in processing military enlistment actions and conducting regulatory reviews of military personnel records.
  • Master's or equivalent graduate degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
  • Combination of education and experience that meets the requirements.
