About the position

The Human Resources Specialist (Military) position within the Department of Defense focuses on ensuring compliance with military personnel regulations and policies. The role involves conducting staff visits, reviewing regulations, and assisting in the formulation of administrative plans and reports. The specialist will also coordinate studies related to civilian education and recommend policies to improve personnel processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct periodic and special staff visits to subordinate units to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Review incoming regulations and directives to administrative and military personnel programs, functions, and procedures.
  • Review and coordinate studies pertaining to civilian evaluation reports, Senior and Base systems.
  • Assist staff in formulating administrative estimates, plans, orders, and reports.
  • Coordinate studies and track Civilian Education System.
  • Formulate and recommend policy to reduce error and late rates.

Requirements

  • Active membership as a soldier in the U.S. Army Reserve (USAR) is required.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • One year of specialized experience in establishing and reviewing personnel policies and practices, processing personnel actions, and establishing personnel records, or a Master's degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration, or a combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in federal service or military personnel management.
  • Knowledge of civilian evaluation reports and personnel actions.
