About the position

The Human Resources Specialist (Military) position at the Department of Defense involves managing military personnel programs, analyzing personnel-related documents, and providing technical guidance on military personnel actions. Responsibilities

  • Monitor suspense items and prepare correspondence.
  • Review, examine, evaluate and analyze Department of the Army publications and Military Personnel (MILPER) messages.
  • Keep track of current publications on military personnel operations.
  • Provide technical guidance to subordinate units in military personnel actions.
  • Draft correspondence concerning officer and enlisted military personnel activities.
  • Execute officer and enlisted military functions within established guidelines.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience in executing and managing military personnel programs, analyzing documents related to personnel, processing personnel actions, and advising on personnel issues at the GS-09 level.
  • Master's or equivalent graduate degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
  • Combination of education and experience that meets the requirements.
