About the position

The Human Resources Specialist (Military) serves as the Chief of Customer Support, responsible for administering all aspects of the section and training Reservists in their tasks. This role involves advising commanders on military HR programs and ensuring the accuracy of personnel data systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and control all aspects of the Customer Support programs for Active Guard Reserve (AGR) and unit reservists.
• Serve as an advisor to commanders on Human Resources (military) programs.
• Ensure accuracy of Personnel Data System (PDS) and perform functional reviews of data reliability.
• Provide Human Resources management advisory services to commanders and staff on all Customer Support programs.
• Administer actions in Automated Reserve Orders Writing System-Reserves (AROWS-R).
• Perform postal/mail duties.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 level or equivalent, including knowledge of HR principles, practices, and techniques related to personnel management.
• Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or a combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of military personnel policies, procedures, rules, guidelines, and publications.
• Ability to analyze data/products and communicate effectively with diverse groups.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Installation Personnel Readiness programs.
• Good control of the English language.
