About the position

The Human Resources Specialist (Military) position at the Department of Defense involves providing essential human resources support to military units, particularly in contingency and humanitarian operations. The role requires the specialist to review work for effectiveness, resolve conflicts arising from diverse Army components, and ensure compliance with government reporting requirements. This position is critical in maintaining the operational readiness and effectiveness of military personnel through effective HR practices.

Responsibilities

• Review completed work for soundness of overall approach and effectiveness in meeting requirements.
• Resolve problems involving conflicting or incomplete information from diverse Army component units.
• Conduct staff meetings to inform personnel of mission, goals, and objectives.
• Submit government-required reports related to contractor performance to ensure service delivery.
• Provide human resources support to units for contingency and humanitarian support operations.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience in providing military human resources advisory services.
• Experience analyzing data related to military human resources.
• Proficiency in utilizing military personnel automated systems.
• Ability to provide guidance, interpretations, training, and briefings on military personnel policies.
• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field, or 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education in Human Resources Management.
