About the position

The Human Resources Specialist position at the Department of Defense involves extensive collaboration with various personnel and management teams to oversee and enhance civilian human resource management functions. The role focuses on strategic planning, evaluation, and coordination of HR programs across the command, ensuring compliance with federal policies and effective personnel management.

Responsibilities

  • Deal extensively with Human Resource Officers and their staffs, senior staff, Technician and Civilian Personnel Policy Division staff on personnel programs.
  • Plan for, manage, and coordinate evaluation reviews of the full range of civilian human resource management functions command wide.
  • Develop and provide short and medium term strategic plans and evaluation schedules.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience providing expert technical advice and assistance on Federal civilian human resource processes and policies.
  • Experience in providing advisory services and program requirements on classification, incentives, and hiring action issues.
  • Experience in providing training and strategic planning needs.
