About the position

The Human Resources Specialist (NF4) position at the Department of Defense involves assisting the MCCS Director in managing the Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) personnel program. This role encompasses a variety of personnel management functions, including recruitment, employee benefits, performance management, and compliance with personnel policies. The specialist will provide guidance and support to management and employees, monitor personnel policy implementation, and conduct training in human resources areas. The position requires a proactive approach to personnel management and a commitment to maintaining a drug-free workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the MCCS Director in administration of the NAF personnel program.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on personnel management issues to field commands and management officials.
  • Monitor implementation of personnel policy and gather feedback for improvements.
  • Conduct training in human resources areas as required.
  • Support Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity and Sexual Harassment policies.
  • Maintain records on all MCCS APF and NAF personnel and track performance standards.
  • Coordinate performance award programs for APF and NAF personnel.
  • Advise and assist in finding solutions to personnel issues.
  • Develop long-range plans and prepare personnel directives and reports.
  • Serve as Drug Free Workplace Coordinator.

Requirements

  • Four years of substantial experience in Nonappropriated Fund civilian personnel management.
  • Knowledge of personnel functional areas such as recruitment, employee benefits, and performance management.
  • Understanding of military, MCCS, and Marine Corps missions and programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in training coordination and evaluation.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and workplace hazard reporting.
