About the position

The Human Resources Specialist at Pasco County Sheriff's Office is a full-time role focused on managing various HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee orientation, and social media management. The position requires a strong understanding of recruiting strategies, particularly in technical and campus recruitment, to attract top talent for the organization. The specialist will oversee applicant online and internal transfer requests, validate eligibility for veteran's preference, and assist with onboarding processes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee applicant online and internal transfer requests for validation of eligibility.
  • Review and validate veteran's preference eligibility.
  • Manage contractor and volunteer applicant backgrounds.
  • Assist onboarding analysts with preliminary employment background investigations.
  • Exercise independent judgment in applying agency policy related to onboarding new members.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years' experience performing human resources related duties, preferably in a public-sector environment.
  • Experience operating a personal computer with Microsoft software including Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Associates Degree from an accredited college preferred.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License required.
  • Unescorted CJIS clearance as authorized by FDLE is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in social media management.
  • Knowledge of recruiting strategies, particularly in technical and campus recruitment.
