About the position

The Human Resources Specialist (Payroll & Benefits) at Linear Motion LLC is responsible for ensuring compliance with various laws and regulations while implementing and enforcing HR policies. This role focuses on payroll processing, benefits administration, and supporting the daily operations of the HR department, contributing to the strategic needs of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll using Paylocity for union and non-union employees across multiple sites, including paycheck distribution.
  • Manage employee setup and maintenance through HRIS, including employee badges and access level approval.
  • Analyze and distribute monthly reports related to payroll, employee hours, headcount, and service awards.
  • Administer benefits, including contract renewals under the guidance of a third-party administrator.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment and employee wellness programs.
  • Manage leave of absence administration, including disability, workers' compensation, FMLA, and ADA.
  • Conduct employment verifications and manage unemployment forms.
  • Oversee employee recognition awards and administration of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Analyze Attendance Control Program and monitor general misconduct.
  • Track Step Increase days worked to ensure timely application of increases.
  • Manage time-off tracking and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Person due to ITAR regulations.
  • Working knowledge of labor laws, including affirmative action.
  • 3-5 years of HR experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a union environment.
  • 3-5 years of employee onboarding experience.
  • 3-5 years of payroll processing experience.
  • Advanced computer skills, including payroll and application tracking software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and innovative skills.
  • Training experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field.
  • SHRM certification.
  • Experience with benefits administration.
  • Experience with 401k systems and filings (e.g., 5500 filing).
  • Experience with Paylocity.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $60,000 to $70,000.
