About the position

The Human Resources Specialist (Placement) at the National Gallery of Art serves as a senior technical resource responsible for providing personnel management services, particularly in recruitment and placement. This role involves coordinating internal recruitment programs, assessing the impact of policies, and providing guidance to HR specialists, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement an internal recruitment program to meet staffing needs.
  • Assess and articulate the impact of new/revised policies and procedures.
  • Provide direction and assistance to HR Specialists personnel.
  • Communicate the organization's strategic plan and integrate it into HR strategies and goals.
  • Coach HR Specialists in problem-solving methods and techniques.
  • Coordinate with other human resources program staff and provide consultation to supervisors and managers.

Requirements

  • Must be a United States Citizen.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service.
  • Experience with staffing and recruitment placement functions under various hiring authorities.
  • Knowledge of Federal HR functions in recruitment, staffing, and classification.
  • Experience utilizing HR-related automated software programs.
  • Ability to analyze HR programs and recommend solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Federal human resources law, rule, regulation, and policy.
  • Strong communication skills to convey important information to various audiences.
