About the position

The Human Resources Specialist (Recruitment and Placement) position is an entry-level role within the DLA Pathways to Career Excellence (PaCE) Program. Selected applicants will undergo a series of progressively responsible HR functions, complemented by formal and on-the-job training. The role focuses on providing a range of HR services, including recruitment, employee relations, and HR processing, under the guidance of higher-graded specialists or supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Perform progressively responsible Human Resources Specialist functions in recruitment and placement.
• Provide HR services in functional specialties such as employee relations and labor relations.
• Apply fundamental HR management methods and principles to complete assignments.
• Work in conformance with established practices and procedures using applicable guidelines.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in HR functions.
• Experience in reviewing and processing HR documentation.
• Ability to give oral presentations on HR-related topics.
• Experience in applying specific rules and regulations to HR assignments.
• Experience in maintaining relationships with internal and external customers.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) based on class standing or GPA.
• Graduate level study in Human Resources or related fields.
