About the position

The Human Resources Specialist - Recruitment & Onboarding will manage the recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires from candidates to team members. This role involves collaborating with department heads to maintain job descriptions, conducting salary benchmarking, and optimizing the Applicant Tracking System (ATS). The ideal candidate should possess excellent organizational skills and a positive demeanor, thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with department heads to create, review, and update job descriptions.
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies in collaboration with hiring managers and HR.
  • Assess candidate qualifications and provide informed recommendations to hiring managers.
  • Facilitate the recruitment process by reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and preparing employment offers.
  • Manage candidate communications, including interview scheduling and reference checks.
  • Facilitate orientation sessions for new hires to introduce them to company culture and values.
  • Ensure legal and ethical compliance in recruitment and onboarding practices.
  • Maintain employee records in compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Continuously optimize the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) for better data accuracy and workflow efficiency.
  • Assist with the creation of office procedures, SOPs, and safety compliance manuals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or comparable experience.
  • 5 years of experience working in Human Resources.
  • Proficiency in HRIS management software; experience with ADP is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and best practices in HR.
  • Incredible observational and interpersonal skills to source and identify qualified candidates.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive employee information.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • SHRM-CP or PHR Certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in HR software, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and Microsoft Office Suite.
