The Human Resources Specialist - Recruitment position at the Department of Justice focuses on developing and implementing recruitment strategies to fill vacancies across various locations nationwide. This role is essential in supporting the Bureau of Prisons' mission by ensuring a skilled workforce that fosters a humane and secure environment for public safety. The incumbent will provide technical advice, assist candidates with the application process, and maintain security responsibilities within correctional institutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop recruitment strategies in coordination with management to fill vacancies nationwide.
• Assist in the direction, development, and administration of nationwide recruiting and referral programs.
• Provide technical advice and assistance to supervisors and HR personnel regarding recruitment flexibilities and best practices.
• Assist candidates with inquiries related to the application process, qualifications, and benefits.
• Maintain security of the institution as part of correctional responsibilities.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education for GL-09.
• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education for GS-11.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level.
• Ability to conduct research and recommend recruitment sources.
• Experience advising candidates on application and hiring practices.
