About the position

The Human Resources Specialist (Recruitment) position within the Department of Defense focuses on staffing training and providing technical advice on staffing actions. The role involves developing and conducting training for new employees, monitoring their progress, and ensuring compliance with regulations and office practices. This position is critical in enhancing the recruitment process and supporting the overall human resources functions within the agency.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Staffing Trainer responsible for developing and conducting staffing training for DLA Human Resources Services and DoD customers.
  • Provide technical advice in the administration of staffing actions.
  • Conduct initial and refresher training for new employees and monitor their progress.
  • Review completed work of trainees and provide feedback until certification requirements are met.
  • Ensure guidance is consistent with regulations, guides, SOPs, and office practices.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level for GS-11 applicants.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level for GS-12 applicants.
  • Knowledge of Federal civilian Human Resources functions in staffing and recruitment.
  • Experience in processing a wide range of personnel actions.
  • Ability to support individual and group learning experiences for various training formats.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in implementing training process improvements.
  • Familiarity with Federal civilian Merit Promotion and non-competitive staffing actions.
