Additionally, the Senior Specialist will be responsible for providing technical guidance to the Director, Assistant Directors, Supervisors, and line staff, acting as a subject matter authority on specific human resources office issues. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of human resources functions, including classification, compensation, recruitment and placement, employee relations, and labor management relations within the federal government. The successful candidate will also need to be knowledgeable about the correctional environment and the issues that impact human resources policy, as well as the agency's negotiated labor/management contract and organizational structure. This role is critical in ensuring that the Department of Justice maintains a workforce that reflects the diverse experiences and perspectives of the American people, thereby enhancing the agency's commitment to public service.
