About the position

VTG is seeking a Human Resources Specialist (Team Lead) to provide comprehensive support to the PEO IWS Corporate Operations Directorate in various critical areas including Human Resources, Security, and Facility Management. This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective implementation and maintenance of a human resources information system that controls all Program Office human resources documentation. The specialist will play a key role in developing and updating the PEO IWS master staffing plan and organizational charts, ensuring that newly assigned or hired personnel receive thorough 'Welcome Aboard' packages that include essential government benefits information and organizational charts. Additionally, the specialist will manage the 'Check Out' processes for personnel leaving the PEO IWS organization, ensuring a smooth transition for all employees. The responsibilities extend to establishing and maintaining a Position Description library, job crediting plans, and vacancy announcement flyers, all while assisting with personnel requisitions and hiring actions. The specialist will monitor the frequency and completion of personnel actions and maintain manpower documentation to reflect the planning and completion of hiring actions in accordance with Navy Total Force Manpower Policies and Procedures. Furthermore, the role involves analyzing the demographics and rates of change within PEO IWS human resources, providing administrative support for special projects, and implementing the PEO IWS Government Human Capital Strategy plans as initiated by various governmental bodies. In addition to these tasks, the specialist will coordinate Workforce Administration Management Organization efforts, analyze data for continuous improvement, and assist with site planning assessments and logistics coordination for PEO IWS events. The role also includes processing and tracking Requests for Personnel Actions (RPAs), awards, appraisal submissions, and recruitment actions, while monitoring the Civilian Award Budget. The specialist will track and report on Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certifications, training metrics, and personnel demographics, ensuring compliance with all necessary regulations and policies. This position requires a proactive approach to analyzing and reporting on civilian human resource metrics, including recruitment, training, awards, and diversity programs, to support the overall mission of the PEO IWS.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Workforce Administration Management Organization efforts and recommend steps for continuous improvement.
  • Process, track, and distribute Requests for Personnel Actions (RPAs), awards, appraisal submissions, and recruitment actions.
  • Track and report status of DAWIA certifications and training metrics.
  • Analyze, track, and report on PEO IWS civilian human resource metrics, including recruitment, training, awards, and diversity programs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree and 10 years of related professional experience OR High School Degree and 16 years of related experience.
  • Secret Clearance.

Benefits

  • Estimated starting pay range of $74,000-$89,000 annually, considering work experience, education, skill level, and market considerations.
